On Sunday, January 21, 2024, approximately after 5:30 a.m. a car veered off the I-5 Freeway in East Los Angeles and killed 1 person. The car was traveling southbound on the I-5 Freeway and drove off over the side, according to California Highway Patrol officers, and ended up on surface streets.
The details surrounding the crash and death are still being investigated. It’s not currently known if the fatality was a passenger or pedestrian.
