A 23-month-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene of her Irvine apartment complex on August 16, 2022, after being hit by an Amazon van. The Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene at approximately 3:30 pm, where they were able to locate and question the driver.
At this time no arrests were made, and drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the tragic accident. Neighbors allege numerous complaints were made previously to Estancia Apartment Homes management regarding visibility in the outdoor areas and speeding cars, but no corrections have been made. The details of the crash are not available at this time.
