On January 16, 2023, California Highway Patrol and the LA Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality. It’s not known yet the full scale of the collision and how many parties and vehicles were involved, but there were two confirmed overturned vehicles that landed on opposite sides of the 101 Freeway, near Las Virgenes Road.
Officials began receiving calls about the crash at around 9:12 pm, that night. It was also confirmed by officials that one person passed, and two others needed to be rescued from their vehicles. California Highway Patrol estimates between 8 and 10 cars may have been involved in this fatal crash.
California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for lanes on both sides of the highway, which were been reopened hours after the crash.
