On Saturday night, June 3, 2023, an 8 year old boy was killed from a car crash in Pico-Union. The boy was being driven by a woman who crashed into a shipping container. Following the collision, both the woman and the child were hospitalized. The woman is in stable condition, the 8 year old boy died. The relationship between the woman and the boy has not been stated yet.
It’s unknown at this time what caused the crash into the shipping container. The LAPD is not currently investigating this as a DUI, but is working to collect any footage of the crash from nearby street cameras.
