On August 6, 2023, at approximately 11:00 pm in Van Nuys, a driver crossed the center line into the wrong side of the road and fatally struck another vehicle. The driver of the struck vehicle was declared dead at the scene. A passenger in the at-fault vehicle is receiving medical care for injuries sustained.
The wrong-way driver was believed to have been under the influence at the time of the accident and was arrested for alleged DUI.
